Art That Gives Back: Pretty in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
I had just been admiring my latest Shabby Chic Artwork - Pretty in Pink when I received news that my aunt had found a lump in her breast. To all you beautiful ladies who have gotten this news my heart goes out to you.
No matter how old you are it is a shock. Thankfully I was on the phone when the doctor gave her the biopsy result and breast cancer was confirmed. I longed to wrap her in my arms but the distance between us made it impossible. It came as a shock and I could hear it as her voice waivered.
Have you ever been in this sort of situation? You aren't the one getting the news but the one seeing another face it. If you could you would swap places. You don't want them to go through the anguish but your hands are tied. All you can do is walk beside them and grieve with them through each step they must take.
Romans 12:15 tells us to weep with those who weep, so that no one has to suffer on their own. Very good advice. No one should ever have to walk alone. We need God and we need each other in these moments.
I made the decision there and then that the sale of this painting would be donated to Breast Cancer research. A small offering in the big scheme of things but one that I need to do at this time. So, if you are the one who purchases this artwork, not only will you get a beautiful piece of art but your purchase will support a very worthwhile cause.
At this time I only sell art within Australia. I'm not set up for international orders and I'm taking things slowly one step at a time. Some things are more important than others - like being there for family or friends when they need you.

Do hug your loves ones every chance you can - you never know what news you will receive tomorrow.
Take care and blessings galore
