I’m Jennifer Johnston. I’m an Australian artist and author living on the beautiful coast of Hervey Bay.
Whether you’ve arrived here for the art, the words, or simply a quiet place to pause, my hope is that this space helps your breath settle and your heart remember what matters. I create mixed media and acrylic artworks, and I’m beginning to explore watercolour too. My work sits at the meeting point of image and story — visual layers that invite you to slow down and smile, and written reflections that point toward hope, meaning, and the gentle ways God meets us in our everyday lives.

I’m drawn to details, textures, and the quiet moments that often get missed.
In my artwork, I love layering colour, marks, and found elements to create pieces with depth and warmth. In my writing, faith is at the centre — I’m inspired by Scripture and the everyday ways God strengthens us, steadies us, and calls us forward with hope.

JENNIFER's STORY
My painting journey began in September 2024, during a season marked by an unexpected diagnosis and a deep need for comfort and clarity. In that quiet, vulnerable space, I sensed the prompting of Almighty God to pick up a brush, something I had never imagined for myself. With a handful of paints, a few simple tools, and absolutely no idea what I was doing, I stepped in anyway… and fell completely in love. Only months later, I entered four pieces in the 2025 Fraser Coast Agricultural Show and was astonished to receive three awards. Two firsts and one second. Art has become a lifeline for me, a place of joy, expression, and healing, and I’m grateful every day for the unexpected way this creative path opened before me.
